Recognized for her “intensity in musical and dramatic involvement,” American soprano Lindsey Brakhage has been praised for her vocal warmth, power, and “lacrime” quality. She was born and raised in Georgia where she completed her undergraduate studies at Piedmont University. During her studies, she toured internationally in England and Wales with the Piedmont Chamber Singers.
Lindsey completed her master's degree in 2016 from Converse University in Greenville, SC where she was a proud recipient of a Full Graduate Assistantship. Most recently, she has performed the roles of Erste Dame in Mozart’s (Die Zauberflöte), Countess Almaviva in (Le Nozze di Figaro), and Mrs. Winemiller in Hoiby’s (Summer and Smoke).
Upon graduating, Lindsey began coming into her own as a full lyric soprano. She made her Weill Recital Hall debut at Carnegie Hall in July 2017 and has performed internationally in Germany and Italy. Lindsey was a 2020 Semi-Finalist in the renowned Premiere Opera Foundation + NYIOP Compeition.
A 2019 recipient of The Chapman Cultural Center Artist Grant, Lindsey enjoys a plethora of artistic outlets including graphic design, photography and painting. She published her first children’s book “Lindsey the Lion” through Barnes and Noble that tackles the subject of stage fright for kids. In Nov 2021, she will be releasing her first Christmas album "Evergreen" that will be available through all streaming platforms. ​
